Final paper is an opportunity for you to develop your thinking about one or more of the ‘media paradigms’ we have studied this semester (media imperialism, media flows and contra-flows and media ecosystems). You will use the paradigms (and their vocabularies) as analytic frameworks to describe a media phenomenon. You may use one of the prompts above and expand upon it or you may chose a media text, site, practice or organization and use one of the paradigms to investigate it.

Description and analysis of one media site, text, or organization using one of the paradigms (and/or its related vocabularies) as an analytic framework. The essay should begin with an introductory paragraph outlining the contents of the paper. Part one should describe the media site, text, practice or organization in detail. Part two should describe, define, and summarize the key features and utility of the chosen paradigm (including all key terms). Part three should analyze the site, text, practice or organization using the paradigm/vocabularies as an analytic framework. The essay should be concluded with 1-2 paragraph2 that synthesizes key points and offers an answer to the question, “so what” (why does this matter)?
