Short Writing Assignments
Each assignment asks students to apply knowledge to nursing practice. Providing examples offers new insights and may be important in developing safe, high-quality care, and patient centered care.
For each short writing assignment, prepare a 2 page “paper”. Please include a cover sheet, provide a brief introduction, then address each component of the assignment, and end with a brief conclusion. Use in-text citations and appropriate references, as needed. If citations and references are used, please use peer reviewed sources, and include a reference page (APA 7th edition).
NOTE: What is meant by peer-reviewed articles or literature? Peer reviewed means that a board of scholarly reviewers in the subject area of the journal, reviewed materials they publish for quality of research and adherence to editorial standards of the journal, before articles are accepted for publication. If you use materials from peer-reviewed publications, they have been vetted by scholars in your field for quality and importance. How do you locate peer-reviewed literature? The easiest and fastest way to find peer-reviewed articles is to search the online library databases through HS/HSL (e.g., Academic Search Premier, CINAHL, Medline, etc.).

- Explain how the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice assist the nurse to deliver care that reflects the tenets of social justice and health equity.
- Select one Standards of Professional Performance and explain how that standard might be altered when applying the Crisis Standards of Care.
- Provide a conclusion to the paper.
