Urban Farming

Imagine your local library has asked you, because of your expertise with farm literature, to help prepare a guide to literature (and remember how broad our definition of literature is) that focuses on urban farming. Research and select at least two pieces of literature, then provide a citation and annotation for each. The annotated bibliography page from OWL Purdue may helphttps://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/614/01/
NO DUPLICATION ALLOWED, so start early. I hope to see a large variety.
Sample (remember you have to provide two):
Chickens: Popular Farming Series. Irvine, CA: Bowtie Magazines, 2012. Print.
This soft cover book is published in magazine format by the editors of Hobby Farms Magazine. The authors of the varied articles on raising poultry come from different backgrounds, both scientific and those with practical experience. The photographs are visually appealing, especially in articles like “Breeds from A to Z” that offer pictures of full-grown chickens to help choose the right bird for our needs. I find this publication very useful since chickens are one farm animal that is often allowed in many incorporated urban areas. It helped me choose poultry I would raise and the type of structure that worked best in my suburban backyard. It also has a section on organic farming for those who are health conscious.
AS ALWAYS (I would hope you have this memorized by now)
Your first original post should be submitted before 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Your response to classmates’ posts should be completed before 10:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Grading:
Grading will be based on the same rubric as posts on your blog. You should develop original, complex ideas that go beyond surface reading (we’ve all read the same thing, so a simple review is not what I’m looking for).
Introduce fresh material, This may require additional research.
Each post should be written as a complete thought.
Identify your topic
Narrow the topic by telling your audience your point of view on a specific point
Show your audience what you mean by offering evidence
Conclude
A good test of whether or not it is a complete thought is if you can remove it from the discussion and have it still make sense
Responses to classmates’ posts should always have a “because” clause
Use appropriate netiquette. Nobody should feel attacked Link
