ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY: Purpose: Students will explore trends in pathophysiology Leave a reply ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY: Purpose: Students will explore trends in pathophysiology by identifying emerging infectious diseases (EIDs) and determining appropriate sources of information related to these pathophysiologic processes. Print and read the How-to-Create an Annotated Bibliography material located on Desire2Learn. An example of an Annotated Bibliography is also available for your review. Directions: Develop a list of diseases. These diseases may be of local or global concern. When choosing these diseases consider the influence of cultural differences related to incidence, prevalence, & treatment; chronic and/or acute pathophysiologic alterations; geographic and care settings; and age. Some examples include Malaria, Mad Cow Disease, Monkeypox, West Nile Virus, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Resistant Organism Infections (MRSA/VRE), Hepatitis A,B,C, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), Tuberculosis, Bacterial Pneumonias. A complete listing of emerging infectious diseases can be found on the CDC website: www.cdc.gov. You will be expected to choose at least two emerging disease processes and turn in four annotations for each. Your completed annotated bibliography should be submitted on GeorgiaView through the discussion board by the due date indicated on your course calendar. It would be wise to review your classmate’s annotated bibliographies and save as a future reference. This could be a very useful tool for future research papers/topics.
