Abstract
The study investigates the differences in the admission to nursing homes on the basis of ethnicity. It demonstrates an adherence to the conventions of research through the choice of design that fits the research hypotheses. The application of a quantitative approach and a sample of about 18592 participants facilitates the identification of both the patterns of admission and the socio-economic needs of each group. Similarly, the approach to the selection of variables facilitates the exploration of multiple dimensions of the study, including the patterns of admission to homes and the health and disability needs in the target population. Nevertheless, the study limits the choice of sample to individuals of specific age characteristics, which makes the generalization of the outcomes difficult.
