Consider what Mills (2014) offers regarding preliminaryinformation gathering also known as reconnaissance. Three forms ofreconnaissance are described including self-reflectiondescription and explanation. According to Mills (2014) theseactivities help clarify what the teacher researcher already knowsabout the proposed focus of the study what they believe to be trueabout the relationships of the factors variables and contextsthat contribute to the work environment; and what they believe mayimprove the situation.
