Considering A Doll’s House, in what way does male dominance and role of women in society portray about family life during the 19th century?
In the play “a Doll’s House,” the reader is able to acquire an immediate perception of the impact of gender roles on the interactions and actions of the characters throughout various scenes. The play significantly aids in portraying the various struggles faced by the feminine gender during the 19th century especially with gender obligations, and how such roles influenced their associations with their masculine counterparts. This paper seeks to borrow ideas from external literature to better comprehend Ibsen’s play and the question being studied: in what way does male dominance and role of women in society, as seen in “a Doll’s House,” portray about family life during the 19th century? The following two existing studies will be considered in responding to the above scenario.
